Professor Park, Yong-Wan of Yeungnam University(50, School of Electronic Engineering, Communication Engineering and Computer Science, photo) was recently appointed as 'DDG(Deputy Director General)' which is a representative of Asia region from the IBC(International Biographical Centre).
‘DDG’ is able to select a figure with exceptional achievement in many areas from Asia region and make a recommendation to IBC headquarters while being the representative of Asia region who is entitled to organize academic conference, seminars or meetings of related subcommittees.
Professor Park who is working as a professor of School of Electronic Engineering, Communication Engineering and Computer Science of Yeungnam University is the '1st generation student from abroad' in the field of domestic mobile communications who has gone through electronic engineering department of Kyungpook National University and graduate school, masters/doctorate course of New York State University and Post-doc of Caltech.
He was in charge of a role in the development of mobile communication business in Korea while working as a research & development team manager in the field of '3G' mobile communication at the SK Telecom until Aug, 1996 after returning home in 1994 and came to Yeungnam University in Sep, 1996. Since 2004, he is commanding 'next generation wireless multimedia project' of about 13 million US$ scale until 2014 as a director of 'RIC (Regional Innovation Center)' while becoming successful in the development of 'Intelligent Autonomous Vehicles' that has combined a state of art IT technology and automotive technology as he led the 'ubiquitous embedded center' for 2 years since 2007.
He is acting as a chairman of Korean branch of the ‘IEEE'(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) which is the greatest and most prestigious academic society of the world in the field of electricity and electronics. For main literary works, there is 『Enhanced Radio Access Technologies for Next Generation Mobile Communication)』, etc which is a 'fourth generation mobile communication' related guideline compiled by 'Springer' which is a worldwide scientific publishing company in 2007.
