Introduction

Major of Korean Painting

The objective of this department is to help students acquire a broad range of knowledge, painting concepts and expression methods in Korean paining to foster outstanding painters that has learned traditional art forms and have the proper understanding of the spirit, so that they can work in creative art activities by establishing an aesthetic value and concept through education in free and abundant creativity.

Major of Painting

The Major of Painting aims at developing unique expression abilities and creativity through theoretical and practical education needed for producing artwork.
For this, students are trained in a wide range of production starting from general knowledge on art, basic painting techniques and experimental modern sculptures, and aims at fostering artists that can embody creative art activities and spirits by establishing aesthetic values and concepts.

Major of Sculpture

The Major of Sculpture is a three dimensional expressive art that uses all materials that exist in the world as aesthetic medium in order to convey their message of beauty and more. We focus on fostering sculptors that can maturely express space through research on various materials for self expression based on handling metal, marble, wood and found object.

HISTORY

The College of Design and Art was first approved and installed as the Department of Applied Arts in the College of Family in 1968. The College of Design and Art has continued to revise and supplement its educational system to overcome its difficulties as a local university for the purpose of developing many talented students.
In the midst of rapidly changing university environments to the social changes caused by information, the College of Design and Art divided the School of Art and Design to the School of Fine Arts and School of Design in August 2001 in order to produce famous artists.
