Department of Textile Engineering and Technology
Introduction
The goal of the Department of Textile Engineering and Technology (DTET) is to train the next generation of world leaders in the field of textiles that are needed by both the industry and modern society.
The DTET provides many opportunities for students to expand their intellectual, creative, and social faculties to become highly competent in the textile industry and ultimately fulfill Yeungnam University's mission of training tomorrow's leaders.
To accomplish this, the DTET bases its curriculum on the following objectives.
- First, the DTET shall develop the practical skills necessary for its graduates to become technically competent leaders and contribute to the advancement of the textile industry.
- Second, the DTET shall promote the qualities necessary for its graduates to flourish in an increasingly close global community by providing courses that specialize in information utilization and communication skills.
- Third, the DTET shall advance the convergence of technology within the textile industry by exposing its graduates to cutting edge technologies and field experience through specialized market oriented courses.
- Fourth, the DTET shall foster a strong sense of humanity, ethics, and character within its graduates to become exemplary contributors to their nation and community.

- - Continuously update its curriculum to conform with international standards and prepare its students to become internationally competitive in an increasingly close global community.
- - Expose its students to advanced and cutting edge technologies in the textile industry through specialized market oriented courses.
HISTORY
- March 1, 2012 formally named the College of Engineering, Department of Textile Engineering and Technology following a process of extracting textile related faculty and courses from both Polymer Chemistry and Textile Engineering Major, Fibers and New Materials Design Engineering Major in School of Textiles.
