<The YU Graduate School of Business Administration held the 50th year anniversary ceremony (June 20, 2020)>
The YU Graduate School of Business Administration (Dean Ahn Seung-cheol) held the 50th year anniversary ceremony.
This ceremony was held at 4 p.m. on June 20 at the YU Daegu Campus (Daemyeong-dong, Daegu) Business Administration Hall auditorium. YU President Sur Gil-soo, School of Business Dean Lee Gang-il, YU Medical Center Director Kim Sung-ho, YU General Alumni Association Chairman Jung Tae-il, Master’s Degree General Alumni Association Chairman Yoon Jung-rok, AMP General Alumni Association Chairman Jang Se-cheol, as well as Daegu Superintendent of Education Kang Eun-hee, Nam-gu Office Chief Cho Jae-gu and other internal and outside figures and alumni association executives attended to congratulate the 50th anniversary of the YU Graduate School of Business Administration.
Dean Ahn Seung-cheol said, “The YU Graduate School of Business Administration was opened in March of 1970 and it is the first in the region and is one of the schools with the longest history and tradition in Korea. Talented people who graduated from the YU Graduate School of Business Administration are active not only in the region, but in various areas all around the nation.” He added, “I am convinced that this 50th anniversary ceremony will be the touchstone for the next 50 years and 100 years. The YU Graduate School of Business Administration will continue to fulfill its role as a cradle for future business administration education and incubator for business professionals.”
<50th year anniversary of the YU Graduate School of Business Administration sculpture ‘Ungbi - Patriotism - 2020’>
Prior to the ceremony, a pre-ceremony event was held such as the Graduate School of Business Administration development seminar, unveiling of the 50th year anniversary monument, and tree planting ceremony. Academic and industry experts participated in the Graduate School of Business Administration development seminar that was held from 1 p.m. to hold presentations and discussions. This was held with the goal of innovating business administration education that will lead the future in the 4th industrial revolution and to search for business administration education plans of a new paradigm.
<Commemorative tree planting>
The 50th year anniversary sculpture unveiling ceremony and tree planting event were held at the garden of the Business Administration Hall at 3 p.m. The sculpture that was installed was produced with funds gathered by the graduate school’s Master’s Degree General Alumni Association and Advanced Management Program General Alumni Association alumni. The title is <Ungbi - Patriotism - 2020> (granite, 3,500x1,800xh2,850mm) and it is a work by YU alumni sculptor Lee Byung-joon. It is based on five volumes of books and it formatively expresses the aspirations for purity, love, happiness, hope and wishes.
Also, the YU Graduate School of Business Administration 50 Year History Book was published to commemorate the 50-year anniversary. This book summarizes records remaining at the university and various materials stored by professors and alumni, containing the 50 years of the YU Graduate School of Business Administration.
Meanwhile, the YU Graduate School of Business Administration was opened in March 1970 and graduated a total of 9.982 business professionals including 2,652 in master’s degree courses, 6,123 in the advanced management program 167 in the management research course, 112 in labor and management courses, 87 in female business administration course, 559 in the professional management program, and 309 in the golf advanced management program.
