He added, "Those who have been selected for this scholarship should develop into persons who can expand the economic territory of Korea and contribute in the co-prosperity of all people through the Saemaeul movement like your predecessors, and should continue the beautiful tradition of helping your juniors even after graduating."
Representing the students receiving scholarships, Han, Seung-mok stated, "Whenever and wherever we are, we will be proud of 'Saemaeul scholarship students' and take the initiative to succeed and develop the Saemaeul spirit and movement, while also striving to continue the tradition of passing down the love."
The Yeungnam Saemaeul Scholarship Committee was made by graduates of the YU Department of Regional Development and Welfare Administration, who completed their studies receiving four year scholarships through the Saemaeul scholarship. This was first established in 2003 to provide support for the academics of students in the YU Department of Regional Development and Welfare Administration and to provide various cultural experience support. Since giving scholarships to 10 students in 2006, a total of 61 million won was given to 61 students until this year.
