Professor Kang Joo-won selected as core researcher and hottest researcher in the architectural structure sector
YU placed on top of 159 research institutes

YU's School of Architecture was found to have research capacities of the highest caliber in the nation.
According to the '2015 Architecture and Urban Research Trends' published by AURIC (Architecture and Urban Research Information Center), YU School of Architecture Professor Kang Joo-won (photo on left) was found to be first place in both number of theses and thesis download. YU was also placed in the top 5 for both number of theses and number of thesis downloads.
AURIC is the nation's largest specialized information institute that manages research, education and industrial information in the architecture and urban sectors. It analyzed and presented core researchers and research institutes in the architecture sector through the '2015 Architecture and Urban Research Trends'.
Upon analyzing 274 papers in the architectural structure sector published in 23 academic journals from September 2014 to August 2015, Professor Kang Joo-won was found to have published the most number of papers at 11 among the 555 researchers, while YU was ranked fourth in the number of theses published among the 159 research institutes. <Table. Furthermore, upon analyzing the number of downloads for the total 3,902 theses in the architecture structure sector published in 23 domestic academic journals for the past 10 years (Sep 2005 - Aug 2015), Professor Kang was found to have 132 thesis downloads, and was thus selected as the 'Hottest researcher'. YU was also ranked third in the 'Hottest research institute'. <Table.
