YU hosted the Global Capstone Design Program.
The YU Hub Center for Engineering Education held the event online this year with the theme ‘Sustainable Living in the New Normal’ from August 13 to 20. This conference was joined by over 100 engineering students and 24 professors from 11 universities in Korea, Thailand and Japan such as the Rajamangala University of Technology in Thailand and the Kanazwa University College of Engineering of Japan.
In the finals held on August 20, the YU team that proposed ‘Sustainable Living in the New Normal: Parasolar’ won the grand prize. The YU team developed a time-conserving solar energy charging parasol that reduces carbon dioxide emissions and allows multi-operation, providing implications about the global environmental issue.
‘Eco-friendly Reusable Ear Loops’ of Hongik University (Sejong) won second place and ‘Car Sharing, Electric Scooter’ of Halla University won third place.
