Grand Prize at the 2019 Global Photovoltaic Conference hosted by the Korea Photovoltaic Society

YU School of Chemical Engineering Professor Park Jin-ho (60, left on photo) won the ‘GPVC Award’ at the ‘2019 GPVC (Global Photovoltaic Conference)’.
GPVC is a solar power industry forum held annually by the Korea Photovoltaic Society and the ‘GPVC Award’ is the grand prize of the forum. Professor Park received the ‘GPVC Award’ for his contributions to the development of science technology in solar power generation and for enhancing international cooperation at this year’s GPVC held at the Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju on March 14.
Professor Park earned his PhD at the University of Florida and has been serving as a professor at the YU School of Chemical Engineering since September of 1994. He served as the fourth chairman of the Korea Photovoltaic Society and he was also selected as a full-time member of the National Academy Engineering of Korea last year. Professor Park was recognized for his contributions to the development of education in domestic chemical engineering and received the Hyundang Education Award from the Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering and the order of science and technological merit ‘Doyakjang’.
Professor Park has been appointed as the MD (managing director) of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy R&D Strategy Planning Team Energy Industry and is currently actively serving in this position since December of 2016 and he is also the Korean representative to the International Energy Agency (IEA) Solar Power Generation Subcommittee Task 1 since 2012.
