Held the ‘Touring Citizen Diplomacy Consensus Factory and Free Speech Podium’ at YU on the 10th
Special lecture on the ‘2019 Korea-ASEAN Special Summit’ and communication with students on pending foreign affairs issues
[October 10, 2019]
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) made the opportunity to communicate with YU students on foreign affairs policies.
MOFA held the ‘Touring Citizen Diplomacy Consensus Factory and Free Speech Podium’ at YU from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the 10th. This event was held to strengthen communication with citizens and to promote national participation on foreign policies.
This event was comprised of a special lecture by diplomacy experts and a free speech podium session to hear the thoughts and opinions of students on foreign affairs. The special lecture was held on the ‘2019 Korea-ASEAN Special Summit’ that is scheduled to be held in Busan in November by the Korea-ASEAN Special Summit Steering Committee Director Seo Jung-in, and in the following free speech podium session, MOFA representatives held a free-structured Q&A session on the major policies of MOFA and pending foreign issues with YU students.
MOFA said that this event was meaningful because it left the Seoul area to visit citizens in other parts of the country to directly hear the opinions of citizens on foreign affairs, while sharing the pending foreign affairs issues with the citizens.
