55 students in medical school hold charity drive from Mar 7 – 12 to gather 3.4 million KRW
“Hoping to help front line medical staff fighting COVID-19 as future medical practitioners”

Students of the YU College of Medicine (Dean Yoon Sung-soo) delivered funds for overcoming COVID-19 to the YU Medical Center (Director Kim Tae-nyeon).
The YU College of Medicine students met with Director Kim Tae-nyeon and handed over the 3.4 million KRW in funds that they gathered on the 2nd. These funds were gathered through a charity drive by 55 YU College of Medicine students from March 7 to 12.
At this donation ceremony were present the Medical Center Director Kim Tae-nyeon, YU College of Medicine Dean Yoon Sung-soo, Secretary Lee Joon, and Vice Dean Seo Wan-seok to express their appreciation to the students who will become the medical professionals of tomorrow in a situation where everybody is sharing the pain due to the spread of COVID-19.
YU College of Medicine Student Body President Bae Jae-young said, “We began this charity drive while searching for ways to help the medical staff and faculty who are doing their best to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and to treat patients as we are students that cannot engage directly in medical activities.”
Dean Yoon Sung-soo who attended the ceremony said, “I am very thankful for the numerous students who voluntary participated in the charity drive to beat COVID-19 with a sense of stewardship.” YU Medical Center Director Kim Tae-nyeon added, “I would like to express our gratitude on behalf of the entire faculty and we will use the donations given by the students to solve the COVID-19 issue.”
