Natural Science departments set their educational goals to nurture researchers who can apply their skills to Engineering and Social Science fields as well as the Natural Science field. By going through various curricula, students will be qualified as researchers who have the ability to conduct researches in their own way by building up imaginative research abilities through academic activities such as theory researches and experiments.

- The department offers the degrees "Master of science" and "Doctor of science" in Pure Mathematics and/or Applied Mathematics

- Statistics is not only a set of tools used for organizing data but also the science of analyzing various kinds of natural, social and economic phenomena based on information contained in the data

- The curriculum focuses on the fundamentals of physics and experiments in order to develop human resources with practical abilities and knowledge in physics needed by high-tech industries such as the photonics industry, display industry, nano and semiconductor industries
